Invitation

ASM 09

This Conference is for all doctors, nurses and other health professionals working in or with an interest in occupational health.

For General Practitioners who work in the field of occupational medicine or who are simply interested in having a greater understanding - Day 1 will be of particular interest.

INVITATION TO...
    “REFINING PRACTICE”

Occupational health has been evolving ever since Charles Thackrah published his observations in the 19th Century, but today this on-going change is as rapid and complex as never before. A key part of our role is to keep up with the changing environment and challenges, whilst retaining the best possible levels of service and support. The 2009 Annual Scientific Meeting is a vital event to attend for all healthcare professionals working in occupational health.

An exciting range of plenary sessions, interactive workshops, practical seminars and networking opportunities will give delegates the opportunity to focus on, explore and discuss the changes and challenges that they face.

The three days of Annual Scientific Meeting form a key part of the Society of Occupational Medicine’s new professional development programme to address the current issues and needs of occupational health professionals.

The 2009 ASM programme will provide clinical updates, enhance practical skills via themed interactive workshops and will address key research and hot topics in occupational health, all aimed at Refining Practice. Top-quality experts have been invited to present and we are aiming to encourage as much interaction as possible. Our Call for Abstracts will also ensure that highly relevant material is included by way of poster and oral presentations.

Alongside the Conference there will be the satellite meetings running on 22nd June, a social programme including an informal Welcome Reception and our black tie Gala Dinner, our Exhibition and our Workplace Visits.

It will be a busy few days, but there will be a huge amount of information and opportunity for you for education, motivation and personal development.

The Organising Committee urges you to:

We look forward to welcoming you to SOM ASM 2009.
