Thursday 16th April 2009
GALA DINNER AND DANCE (TWMPATH)
The Brangwyn Hall is one of the principal cultural locations in Swansea, and is regularly used for functions, award ceremonies and concerts. The Hall is home to the magnifi cent British Empire Panels, by artist Frank Brangwyn which were considered too scandalous when commissioned for the House of Lords, but perfectly acceptable in Swansea!
This impressive Hall will be the wonderful backdrop for our Gala Dinner, with plenty of space for our Twmpath - traditional Welsh dancing.
The social events at UKCS Conferences are always popular and fun and this year is no exception. The dress code for the event is smart casual and please wear suitable shoes for the dancing!
Please book your ticket at the time of registering and please note that this event will strictly be by ticket only. Your guests are welcome too.
Please note that we are not able to offer any refund for cancelled Gala Dinner and Dance tickets.
Intro to ACA section of UKCS programme
The Association for Continence Advice is delighted to be involved in the opening day of the UKCS 2009 Conference in Swansea. As the largest continence association in the UK, the ACA is working collaboratively with other related organisations to bring together professionals working in continence care.
The ACA part of the programme has been selected to be of interest to members of both the UKCS and ACA. The session starts with an opening address by Rosemary Kennedy, Chief Nursing Officer for Wales as our opening speaker. She will be followed by Karen Logan who will demonstrate how research can change practice, a subject of particular relevance to this meeting. The final two speakers focus on the ever-increasing problem of obesity. Jane DeVille Almond focuses on obesity in men and Ken Clare talks about his experiences of setting up an obesity clinic.
I look forward to seeing you in Swansea.
