SOCIAL PROGRAMME

WEDNESDAY 9TH APRIL 2008

MilestonesWelcome Reception
at Milestones, Hampshire’s Living History Museum.

Step back in time through three quarters of a mile of replica shops, garages, railway stations and factories at Milestones, Hampshire’s Living History Museum.
The streets, laid out in scenes from the late 1880s and 1930s are housed in a speciallyconstructed
modern building, but with cobblestones and tramlines underfoot and historic characters stopping for a chat, the past comes alive.
This will be a great way for us to end the first day’s official activities to then explore the restaurants of Basingstoke and its surrounds with colleagues and
friends.

THURSDAY 10TH APRIL 2008

Oakley HallBlack Tie Gala
Dinner and Dance
at Oakley Hall

Oakley Hall is an elegant and luxurious 18th Century Georgian Manor set in 315 acres of gardens and rural land, within a few minutes’ drive of Basingstoke’s town centre.
Oakley Hall has a distinguished past with links to Jane Austen who was good friends of the Bramstons – former owners of Oakley Hall. It is even rumoured that her novel, Mansfield Park is based on Oakley Hall and the main character Lady Bertram was based on Mrs Bramston.
The social events at UKCS Conferences are always popular and fun and this year will be no exception. The dress code for the event is Black Tie based upon popular demand, so we look forward to seeing participants in their glad-rags!
Transport will be provided.
Please book your ticket at the time of registering and please note that this event will strictly be by ticket only. Your guests are welcome too.
