The Conference has exclusive access to Edinburgh Castle for the evening, to start off our Conference in real Scottish style!Â
Come and join us, to enjoy fantastic views, unique history, the company of your colleagues and a delicious supper. There will also be some Scottish music to enjoy, as you explore the Castle.
This promises to be a very special evening to begin the 2010 Conference and the 75th anniversary celebrations. We will also be opening Registration at the Castle, so you can pick up your Conference materials ready for the next day.
Tickets are complimentary to Full delegates, but please indicate at the time of registering whether or not you wish to attend.
Whisky Tasting at the Assembly Rooms - £23.50 per ticket

Following on from the end of the Conference day and after the SOM AGM, we have arranged for the world-renowned Scotch Malt Whisky Society to come to the Assembly Rooms and provide a tasting of some of their unique drams.
Each participant will be able to enjoy 3 drams of the Society’s unique whiskies. These are not available anywhere else and a presentation from one of the Society’s experts will provide some explanation and background.Â
This promises to be a special opportunity and will be informative and unique, even if you are not (yet!) a whisky drinker!

2010 Conference Ball – Black Tie - £50 per ticket

We are delighted to have booked stylish banqueting suites at the luxurious Balmoral Hotel on Princes Street for the Conference Ball. The suites will provide us with superb views of Edinburgh Castle and this promises to be a very special evening of excellent food, wine and Scottish dancing. The Ball will also be a key part of the celebrations of the Society’s 75th Anniversary.
Tickets are NOT included in the Registration Fee. They are priced at £50 and must be pre-booked. Please indicate at the time of registering whether or not you wish to attend. Additional guests are welcome.
To enable guests to hire Highland Dress if they would like to (ladies or gents), we have set up a special arrangement with Moss Bros on George Street, Edinburgh, with an exclusive 15% discount on their standard rates for Conference participants. A Hire Measurement Form and a discount voucher from Moss Bros are available for download and bookings need to be made direct with Moss Bros.Â
