On behalf of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society and The Paediatric Intensive Care Society (UK), thank you for your interest in the forthcoming meeting PCICS Europe 2011. PCICS Europe is presenting this meeting in partnership with the annual meeting of the UK Paediatric Intensive Care Society. In addition the meeting has the support of the Association of European Paediatric Cardiologists Working Group on cardiovascular intensive care.
These collaborations provide a unique opportunity
for the development of a programme for a
conference with a strong cardiac focus, whilst
providing insights into other important areas of
paediatric critical care.

Programme Features
The programme will provide a learning environment where delegates can have access to leaders in the field of scientific and clinical research and patient care.
In addition to plenary sessions there will be informal sessions with active delegate participation, essential to the success of the meeting. Additionally, there will be key features including: PCICS Europe Honorary Lecture, Grand Poster Rounds, Panel Discussions, Meet the Expert and Free Paper sessions, difficult case presentations as well a Welcome Reception and Conference Dinner.
In addition to the main meeting, the Scientific Committee envisages a number of pre-Conference courses running on 21st September.
The programme will be relevant to all specialists contributing to paediatric critical care including physicians, nurses and scientists.

Target Audience
This activity has been designed to meet the educational needs of cardiologists, critical care physicians, cardiac surgeons, anaesthesiologists, paediatric critical care nurses, registered nurses, and advanced practice care nurses involved in the care of neonates, children, and adults with heart disease in the intensive care setting.
Learning Objectives
The PCICS Europe and PICS (UK) Annual Scientific Meeting aims to provide a learning environment were delegates can have access to thought leaders in the field of scientific and clinical research into paediatric intensive care. There will be poster walks led by thought leaders to comment of work submitted via abstracts, Panel discussions, Meet the Expert sessions and a Conference dinner where thought leaders host tables.
